What is the difference between Cutting Files and Digital Clip Art? TOP

Cutting files are digital files (SVG and DXF) that can be used with compatible software and electronic cutting machines to cut layers out of colored paper.

Digital Clip Art files are digital files (JPG and PNG) that can be used as a whole in digital or printed form.  You an add clip art files to documents, digital scrapbook pages, slideshows, etc., or you can print them and cut them out.

The newer Cutting Files sets in the store also include Digital Clip Art files.

Can I cut your files with my Cricut electronic cutter? TOP

Older Cricut machines, such as the Cricut Expression, Expression 2, Imagine, and Mini can only cut out images on Cricut Cartridges or from Cricut Craft Room. They cannot cut out SVG or DXF files.

Cricut has recently announced, however, that they will debut with a new machine in Spring of 2014, the Cricut Explore, that will be able to cut SVG files.  More information is available on Cricut's website
